FORKLIFT DRIVER
ob Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable forklift driver to join our furniture warehouse team. The forklift driver will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, unload, and organize heavy furniture items throughout the warehouse. This role is crucial to maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring products are handled with care.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Load and unload trucks, ensuring furniture items are secured and protected during transit.
Move large and heavy furniture pieces to designated storage or staging areas.
Stack and organize products in the warehouse to maximize space and maintain a clean, orderly environment.
Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
Assist with inventory counts and verify incoming and outgoing shipments.
Follow warehouse safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
Collaborate with warehouse team members to meet daily productivity goals.
Occasionally assist with manual lifting or packing when necessary.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain).
Proven experience operating a forklift, preferably in a furniture or heavy-goods environment.
Ability to safely lift and move heavy furniture (often 50–100 lbs).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse setting.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Ability to handle heavy and bulky items.
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (may include hot or cold temperatures depending on the season).
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous warehouse experience, especially with furniture or large goods.
Familiarity with warehouse inventory systems or handheld scanners.
